Bit of a long shot, but does anyone here who is in the Apple ecosystem use Private Relay (to mitigate IP address tracking)? It's available if you subscribe to iCloud+.
I can't get my MacBook Pro connected to Private Relay. When Private Relay is enabled in System Settings, a warning message reports:
Private Relay is either not supported by this network or Limit
IP Address Tracking has been turned off in Wi-Fi Settings.
The Wi-Fi router is an ASUS RT-AC87R running RT-AX55 (3.0.0.4.386_53119-g3ed6ada) software, but I don't think that's where the problem lies.
Looking at System Settings > Network > {Wi-Fi name} > Advanced, the option for Limit IP Address Tracking is unchecked. Check it and — DNS resolution no longer works. And within a few minutes (always less than 10), something unchecks the Limit IP Address Tracking option again.
Thus no Private Relay.
Any guidance?
