I mistakenly installed #ios26 (it tricked me by hiding a 18 update). So far it is OK, mostly it seems because I don't have the extra 💪 processor to make it do fancy stuff.

If the "liquid glass" UI stuff is enabled It mostly looks like badly done Windows Vista which I can tolerate 😛 . Very retro.

Regarding #iOS26: what I think I'm going to do is update my least-used device, an #iPad mini, to 26 so I can test-drive it.

That way I will have kicked 26's tires as well as practiced changing the appearance closer to how I like it. Everything I've seen of the update just looks like an accessibility nightmare.

It also means when Apple stops signing 18x for iPhone, I will know what is in store and I will have practiced the adjustments I want to make. Hopefully I'll end up with less frustration and lost time because of this ridiculous software update.

I'm *not* doing it this week! I'll wait until the week of Christmas when I should have plenty of time both to hate on iOS 26 -- and practice the changes. 🤣🙄

I hate change. I am officially an old person! I revel in it.

There was a notification for my phone settings. I went to check and saw that iOS 26.1 has been downloaded and ready to install.

Am I being forced to upgrade to iOS 26 now? I certainly did not request the download.
