Ottjen Alldag ist für alteingesessene Bremer das, was Klein-Erna für Hamburg oder Tünnes und Schääl für Köln sind. Georg Droste erzählte Ottjens Entwicklung von der Geburt bis ins Erwachsenenalter. Heinrich Schmidt-Barrien machte für Radio Bremen daraus in den 1950er-Jahren eine 16-teilige Hörspielreihe.
