Highlights of the last DnD campaign set in Sigil I ran:

- The players get all information from a bunch of psychic rats in a trench coat
- They accidentally teleport a zombie beholder into the Smouldering Corpse bar
- They briefly work in a restaurant kitchen that has a portal to Faunel to source rare meats
- They tame a couple of dogs in an anarchist's house (the dogs are intellect devourers)
- Instead of a final boss fight, they give therapy to a depressed githzerai in Limbo

Quan va sortir el #BaldursGate3 vaig dir que "sí, molt bé, però que no es pot jugar als jocs quan surten", i vaig fer el propòsit de passar-me el #BaldursGate2, del que guardava bon record però feia 20 anys que hi havia jugat.

... El resum és que necessito tenir vacances per posar-m'hi. O el temps lliure que tingués fa 20 anys. Mare meva quin joc més cruel! Girar una cantonada i PAM, un enemic fora de context elimina la meitat del grup d'aventurers; o una trampa desintegra qui ha provat una porta; o el lich de torn es fa invulnerable a tot...

Total que així estic, entrarem al 2026 i encara he de sortir de les coves de la Infrafoscor (capítol 5), tot i que ja em falta poc.

Tampoc és que el joc sigui una proesa narrativa. Poques situacions es solucionen via diàleg. La majoria, després d'un intercanvi de línies de diàleg més aviat seques, es converteixen en un intercanvi de mastegots. Suposo que, al cap i a la fi, aquesta és l'essència de #DnD. Sí que hi ha alguns puzzles i endevinalles per donar varietat (alguns memorables!), però el major puzzle són els combats i les "sorpreses" que prepara cada enemic, en un joc i un sistema en el que això d'equilibrar matemàticament els encontres perquè siguin "justos" no era una prioritat... Tinc molt més bon record del #Planescape: Torment!

I was in a grumpy mood about video games, so I spent some quality time with a #ttprg, finally reading #Daggerheart and I was quite impressed with it.

Lots of interesting potential and they did a remarkable job of harnessing a great anime/video game vibe/homage in many of the campaign frames. Kinda reminds me of the energy & possibility of early the d20 boom.
