3D reconstruction of neuronal allometry and neuromuscular projections in asexual planarians using expansion tiling light sheet microscopy

A high-resolution, high-speed tissue imaging analysis reveals how neural and muscular tissues coordinate during planarian growth and regeneration.

To find the subject of my PhD in the garden pond at my very Cambridge college, that made my day.

“Problem?” asked Jin.
“Tom’s mum doubted Mia,” said Dan.
“But their love’s like a #planaria, try and chop it up & it will just regenerate.”
“I’m sure there’s a more romantic way of saying that.”
“Didn’t want her prince to get married?”
“She does want grandchildren.” #vss365
A snake-headed flatworm (Rhynchodemus sylvaticus), I think. They eat mollusks, springtails, spiders, and small insects. New Paltz, NY. #planarium #planaria #nature #flatworm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOslBRx4lT0

@iBlame

When I was a child, I used to go through my Dad's #invertebrate #zoology textbook left over from college.

I remember being fascinated by the #worm you could cut down the middle and it would grow two heads.

Who knew this would be relevant to current events almost 60 years later?!

Planarian, the Master of Regeneration - the Science of Stem Cells and Genes

A fragment of planarian can regrow into a new animal in two weeks. Genes such as notum and wnt1, instruct the planarian where to grow a head and a tail.

@Rierol molt interessant i molt didàctic, gràcies per compartir-ho i ajudar a desvetllar futurs investigadors

Curiosament, estava també llegint aquest article, interessant vessant. #planaria #xenobots
