Poem: Silent Watcher

Sitting in the back people watching seeing how people interact can be a fascinating pastime. Some talk with their hands animated in a langua...

#WritersCoffeeClub Day 19 How do you feel about using real people as look-alikes for your characters?

Maybe not as a one-to-one exact likeness. I've based characters on real people before, but they're usually an amalgam of many different character traits from different people.

My characters tend to become their own people as I write them.

#ScribesAndMakers Day 19. Would you like to hang out with your favourite creator or do you think it's better to appreciate the work but keep a distance?

I'd like to meet my favourite authors/musicians/artists and talk to them about their creative process. But I wouldn't put them on a pedestal because that's an easy way to be disappointed. They're human just like everyone else.

#WordWeavers Day 19 — Have you ever learned something about yourself from your characters?

#WordWeavers Day 18 What would it take for your MC to become violent?

If you hurt one of Jhana's family or friends, you'll see just how violent she can get.

Tink? It would take a LOT for her to get violent, but hurting her family (blood and found family) would probably do it.

#WritersCoffeeClub Day 18—Do you write under a pen name? Multiple? How did you choose?

Sifa is the name I go by online, and it's the name most of my writer friends know me by.

My poetry E-books are under my real name.

#ScribesAndMakers Day 17. Marketing can be difficult. As a reader/viewer, what catches your interest and makes you want to buy?

The author or the book cover. I'll skim the back blurb and maybe a few pages to see if the writing holds my interest and I'd want to know more.
