Just took this batch of candied jalapenos out of the canner. I bought one bag of jalapenos for $6 at Desert Hills. I made exactly one recipe of them. It fit exactly down to the tablespoon in 12 jars. All 12 jars of this size fit into my canner. All jars sealed. I love it when this happens!

I planted seeds from a packet labeled "jalapeño," but these are clearly banana peppers. They're doing well, despite - or perhaps because of - the heat wave. We've been making quick-pickles with them and putting them in salads, as they have zero spice.

I'd seen a couple of posts here and there about getting the wrong seeds, but apparently it's so widespread that they're calling it #Peppergate.
