My tomato seedlings are finally getting big enough to grow out of their little baby cups! Still too cold outside at night to put them out in my area so they're being upgraded to some of those plastic nursery pots I've been hoarding.
in my 4 decades of online life, i go where these people go:
#astronomers especially #NASA
#infosec & #hackers
#scientists especially epidemiologists, especially² #COVID19 #researchers
#lawyers
#DIY & #FLOSS
#bike riders
#musicians and #DJs cuz they’re curators by default
#photographers
#gardeners
#LGBTQIA+ esp trans folks
#disability activists
#sexWorkers
#metereology & #climate activists
#historians
#foodies
these people not only know what's newsworthy. they’re often the news.

Fellow #PlantLovers / #GardeningAddicts - do you play music for your plants? If so, what kind of music do you play for your plants?
I play lots of classical, jazz & oldies surf rock for my plants. I talk to my plants, daily - mostly giving them love, encouragement & complimenting them. I've always believed that plants can hear words/instrumental music & it doesn't hurt to speak to them, in kind & loving ways & to play some instrumental tunes for them.

When to Plant #Potatoes in #Maine: Best Times and Tips for #Gardeners
By Larry Meyers - March 8, 2026
"From personal experience, choosing the right variety and soil type can make or break your harvest. I’ve found that late April to early May, depending on your zone, hits the sweet spot. If you’re in Zone 4, aim for around April 30, while Zone 5 growers can plant around April 15. The soil warms up nicely by then, making it ideal for planting."
