#bambulab #p1p troubleshooting report:
Symptoms:
▪️“Phfft” noise when bed is moved to the top limit of Z-axis (all the way up).
▪️Noise appeared to go away after the first couple layers (16mm setting) were cleared.
▪️ No obvious impact to printing or performance.
Troubleshooting:
▪️Restarted and swapped filament. No change. Moved bed and isolated sound to the back Z-axis rod.
▪️Discovered a blob of plastic that was pretty old sitting on the top of the moving platform. Suspect this was squishing, ejecting air in the tube-like shape, causing the “pfft” sound. See attached image.
3D printed magnet holders. My design from #fusion360. These magnets are so strong that they are difficult to store.
These holders are just providing additional spacing between them to prevent them all flying together into a single mess.
Used my #bambulab #p1p. #3dprinting
I’m able to embed items like nuts and magnets in my 3D prints - I add 0.005” (0.14mm) to the X and Y dimensions (only once - like expanding a diameter) and 0.01” (0.25mm) to the total height (Z-axis). Parts were inserted and sealed into the print without a problem.
Also made sure to set the pause right at the layer that first “buries” the part. When you right click on the timeline and insert a pause, it pauses before printing the displayed layer. (Want to minimize risk of the print head crashing into something like an exposed magnet or bolt.) #bambulab #3dprinting #p1p
After I released a Panda Touch Dock some time ago, which can be mounted directly on a #BambuLab #P1S / #P1P, now the desktop version in the same design follows.

Well it turns out that no - the quiet mode on the #bambulabs #P1P is NOT quiet enough for me to sleep through.
Between that and various anxiety attacks I am, as the various creatures here would say, “eepy”.
Last night I was able to embed a brass nut inside of a small 3D print. There was a guess-and-check aspect to it to ensure that it would fit. It had to adjust the cavity size a little (in all dimensions).
One thing I ran into was that the layer pause on the #bambulab #p1p dragged filament back into the model unexpectedly. Next time I’ll be ready with tweezers to “pluck” any crap off the extruder. It still ultimately printed just fine. #3dprinting
Back to making more storage containers with the neon green filament.
