I had installed #ubuntu on my #zenbookduo and while the graphics worked just fine I couldn't use #optix in #blender and games didn't run to good either, until I found this support page from #intel
https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/driver/client/overview.html

Follow the instructions and you'll get #optix enabled in #blender and you'll be good to go

Here's the current state of my roller coaster animation. Getting close to being done with this, but my to do list is still quite long! 😅

Here's the current state of my roller coaster animation, with a mix of scenery and graybox, and at 1920x1080. Happy with my progress so far!

I'll take one of them "missing ROPs" RTX 5080s
if y'all got any extra

#NVIDIA #GeForce #RTX5090 #Linux #GPU Compute Performance #Benchmarks
When taking geo mean across 60+ benchmarks of #CUDA / #OptiX / #OpenCL / #Vulkan Compute, the GeForce RTX 5090 was delivering 1.42x the performance of GeForce #RTX4090. On performance-per-Watt GeForce RTX 5090 tended to deliver similar power efficiency to the RTX 4080/4090 graphics cards.
GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition was running cooler than many of the other Founders Edition graphics cards tested.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Linux GPU Compute Performance Benchmarks Review

While there have been a lot of GeForce RTX 5090 Windows gaming benchmarks since the review embargo lift yesterday, for those more fascinated by this high-end Blackwell desktop graphics card for its GPU compute potential on Linux, this article is for you.

Found a Bug, strange one, with #Optix, every now and then Optix, does things its own way, I will make a report tomorrow for this.
As you can see when I switch from #GPU to #CPU, the image changes drastically, and is inverted, a bug discovered by chance during my tests on the optics.#b3d #Blender3d #Blender
So making the material from this tutorial I discovered that in #Blender 4.2 #Optix on #Linux seem not working fine, #Bevel and other two thing didn't worked well, while Cpu and Cuda are fine with GTX 3070 #b3d #Blender3D

3 Easy steps to make Realistic Materials

#Blender : le mode de rendu #cycles est vraiment important et change radicalement les temps de rendus. Exemple avec une même scène et les mêmes paramétrages :

* Avec #cuda : 06 min 12 s
* Avec #optix : 03 min 31 s

Je n'ai pas osé essayer sans l'un ni l'autre (un rendu sans doute aux alentours de 12 min).

Donc, si votre matériel le permet, préférer optix à cuda.
