This is super cool, @boramalper! I was looking for a vector alternative to @equipe_umap… Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between #OpenFreeMap and @protomaps?=

Are you using the public free instance or hosting yourself?

@owiecc But selfhosting was not technically easy (until now).

Therefore you had to use Google Maps (has free tier, but only with limits - then you need to pay) or other commercial services like Mapbox, etc. 💸

And all that if you just want to show the location of an ice cream stand for a small customer page ;)

Therefore - the goal of #openfreemap is also to show how selfhosting can be done in an easy way https://github.com/hyperknot/openfreemap/blob/main/docs/self_hosting.md
