I didn't show this before, did I?

These are mountain bike trails tagged with a mtb_scale (1= green, 2 = blue, 3= red, 4+ = black). The colors only displays when zooming in, so they do not disturb the general view of the map. There is an untagged piece of route in the middle, so the difference should be clear.

The oneway arrows are always displayed, though. The tiny path on a brighter green background is a technical practice pitch.

I achieved something I find cool today: Displaying cliffs on my #openMapTiles vector tile based #openStreetMap map (using tiles from #openFreeMap

Not really complicated, but I haven't seen them on any of the maps on #mapTiler, #osm, or any of the other vector maps I look at.

Example: An end of the white cliffs of Dover, of cause, and a screenshot of the #mapLibre style rules. It is simply a line + a dashed line offset to the right. And it looks about like in OSM Carto. :)

Wow I finally unlocked a ton of knowledge about displaying, styling, manipulating, and embedding maps today thanks to @bart!

I am going to use @maplibre GL JS everywhere from now on.

It’s so simple and fun that in a handful of minutes I managed to add a minimap to pages related to a specific place in my website 👀 (see this commit and this page as reference).

@hakan_geijer I've used https://github.com/brendan-ward/pymgl and https://openfreemap.org/quick_start/ to generate nice static maps before, the liberty style is just json you can edit in maputnik - https://maputnik.github.io/editor?style=https://tiles.openfreemap.org/styles/liberty
