Will be my 1-year anniversary on Mastodon and the fediverse in June. Been that long since I left Reddit.

But I still feel very much like a noob. For example, I have a hard time grasping why I can’t sign into my Mastodon profile (https://lemmy.world/u/Hyphlosion@donphan.social ) on lemmy. There’s obviously a profile of my posts, so why can’t I sign into it on lemmy and use it?

Those of you #NewHere and #NewtoFediverse need to know the terminology.

The Feds, Federati or Fedizens refer to the entire #fediverse, so users of Pixelfed, Kbin, Lemmy and Mastodon...etc.. are all under those terms.

On #Mastodon, the names I've heard are tooters and mastodonii, if anyone has anything better let me know.

I know tags are supposed to be the way to follow content in mastodon but I am seeing "weird" results. Search tag: #StandUpToJewishHate

Here are the counts of responses when searching on different web interfaces:
data-folks = 2
ecoevo.social = 7
mastodon.social > 45

Is this because my home server is not federating with as many servers. How do I insure I actually see all the content related to a tag
