OTD 1972, the Russian #Mars2 mission did reach Mars, but failed due to an unanticipated sand storm on the surface. Reprogramming was impossible at that stage, so the lander was deployed too soon. It misaligned and crashed.
Sadly, the identically constructed #Mars3 met with a similar fate only a couple of days later. But: Its lander didn't crash. It performed the first controlled landing ever on Mars, through the sand storm, before falling silent after just a couple of seconds.
guy,in,a,hatThis morning I got the extra print completed. I'm using the #elegoo #mars3. For material I'm using #Resione #w90b. It's flexible so I can add flexures for mirror steering which is what those squared cut outs are for. The start angles I used are for parallel chief rays. That definitely doesn't work. However on my second fail I learned that you want to start parallel and add a flexible component. Did I mention that you don't save money by doing this? I'm probably at $18 worth. $13 : 60x2" mirrors
I can't believe this shit! after such an awesome fight against #chitubox for locking the #mars3 #3dprinting we had won something. But I'm never. ever. ever. logging in to anything just to use something I purchased! Fucking assholes. Here is my enjoyment of your #lycheeSlicer. Such sad loss. #opensource needs to wake up to this shit. Come up with an actual opensource Slicer. Its time to #raspberrypi 3D printers. I'm done. I'm not buying another 3D printer until I know I can openly print.
To adapt #practikar B mount to my #Canon #6D I actually just removed the old flange, did some calculations and 3D printed an adapter. It was a 1hr print on the #SLA #Mars3. I used their water based #resin, but next time I'm going to use my newest resin #resione #W90d. So far that's the best resin I've tried. They got a black version of it.
