MissConstrueOk, this has nothing to do with world news, or world peace, or anything else important, but omg y’all, #RUSH is going on tour! 🥰🥳💃🏻 #Lee and #Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika #Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for over 60 shows and has released four solo albums.
Now, I’ve seen them live at least a dozen times, but after Neil died, I just figured that was the end of Rush. He wrote so much of Rush”s catalogue, it’s almost impossible to imagine them without him. But Niles is possibly the best living drummer on the planet. If anyone could step behind Neil’s double bass and do him proud, it’s her.
So, I’ve signed up for presale tickets, and I’m really hoping the vip package is something I can afford, because front row seats would be amazing. (I may be the tiniest bit fan girly about Rush, and by tiny I mean I know all the lyrics, and I judge all drummers by their ability to play YYZ.)
