I wanted to get CY0S in the log in #morse, and since it's the last day for them it was becoming a bit of a hurry. But they weren't active on bands I can access from the endfed in the backyard!
Looked at my options and decided to set up the multiband vertical in the frontyard fast. It is relatively easy to set up.
First band that I could use was 15 meters, got in the log on the second try. Also worked St. Kitts & Nevis on 15m CW. Next action was to try 17 meters where I also got CY0S in the log.

I've been looking at my old #AmateurRadio logbooks.

I'm astonished at how much morse I used to do between 1984 & 1986 - mostly contests but still! I find CW terrifying now, but perhaps I should see if I've still got what it takes.

The amount of local activity on 2m and 10m (yes local) was a surprise to me looking back as well. I can't raise anyone on 144MHz these days!

I'm trying to work out what rig I was using on 4m (70MHz) at the time as well - it could have been a crystal controlled Pye box.

Spencer Kelly on #BBC #MorningLive just now demonstrating a tracker and how it "plays a tune" when you locate it with your phone.

A tune?

It was quite clearly shouting "HERE" in #morse code! Nice.

I have that idea of a clock giving time in morse for quite some time.
I finally gave it a try on the matrix, to have an idea of the potential.

It's fun, but I'm not convince yet. I feel it's missing something.

Maybe it's because I don't know morse code :)
(well, now I know the numbers :)
