Keine Ahnung zu #Tolino - ich kaufe ebooks als Dateien, die ich mit #Librera auf dem Fon lese. Kobo zeigt an, ob DRM-frei oder nicht (ist bei mir Teil der Kaufentscheidung für das Buch). Dasselbe englische Ebook war auf Kobo DRM-frei und auf Thalia mit Adobe begossen. Die Auswahl von Nicht-DRM-behafteten eBooks auf Kobo war deutlich besser als auf Thalia (warum auch immer). Aber das mag sehr vom Lesegeschmack abhängen. 🙂

Ich bin kein Freund von Hörbüchern, weil meist gekürzt, lasse mir aber gerne auf längeren Autofahrten ein ebook vorlesen. Das klappt auch recht ordentlich, aber das Perfekte ist bekanntlich der Feind des ganz guten. Ich habe das Problem, dass Librera mit Google TTS einfach mittendrin mal steckenbleibt und auch die Stimme,...vielleicht gibt ja was besseres?
Was nutzt, bzw. könnt ihr auf einem Android Smartphone empfehlen?

lots of browsers are just #chromium with a hat on. 🤠 ( #vivaldi, #brave, ... )

there are good independent browsers like #lynx and #offpunk, which can run on #android in #termux. even though they're terminal apps, scrolling and clicking works.

#librera on #android can be used for reading web sites too, even though it's not a browser as such.

then use an eat-shit browser only for the parts of the web that requires you to eat shit (run #javascript).

@thelinuxcast just been listening to ep 215 "The Everything for Everybody Episode" and got to you talking about #android #EBookReaders. I use #ReadEra, and i think its very good. Its proprietary, but it has no ads*, and is pretty customisable. (And it doesn't have internet permissions.)

*They sometimes do fullscreen popups for the paid version, but they're not obnoxious

I've also used #Librera, which is FOSS, with extreme customisation, but I'm more used to ReadEra.

Late to the party, I know. Read less than 2024, but it's not that bad. After stumbling on the first season of the Netflix series #DepartmentQ I've decided to read the books. That's most of what I've read this year. Still missing the tenth and last book of the series.

Interestingly enough, of these 15 books only one I physically own. The other 14 are #epub read on my phone, which I find quite convenient, thanks also to the #librera app from #FDroid.

Ogólnie czytam książki na czytniku od #Onyx, ale czasem po prostu nie mam go pod ręką, a mam 5 minut na przeczytanie paru stron. Wtedy wykorzystuję coś co mam zawsze przy sobie - telefon. Przez ostatnich kilka dni szukałem aplikacji idealnej do tego zastosowania i zdaje się, że finalny werdykt to #Librera. Oczywiście mówimy o rozwiązaniu #OpenSource.

Tak jo, tak jsem nakonec objevila ještě jednu čtečku knih na #fdroid a to https://f-droid.org/packages/com.foobnix.pro.pdf.reader
a jeví se mi lepší na mobil nežli koReader.Tak jako tip 👍

Ahora q esta oficialmente obsoleta me vuelve a interesar la fire8 😅🤣🤣🤣

La compré nueva en 2017 y tiene sólo 1,5 gig de ram, es su punto mas débil, veremos los jueguicos como irán... 😅

Lo curioso es q aunque de serie no llevaba la play store, sin mucho esfuerzo se le puede añadir (ya lo hice en su día😇) y tiene tb el fdroid, a ver si puedo ponerle #librera 😜 y acceso al nas 🤗

Recuerdo q es la tablet q llevé en algún viaje y aunque era ya de nueva algo lenta la pantalla está bastante bien 😉
