In effort to save hemorrhaging cash resources #EastBay #Peralta #CommunityCollege district Chancellor announces intent to end separate boards at downtown #Laney campus & hilltop #Merritt colleges to merge into single #Oakland City #College entity .
Part of the problem is Peralta Community College district has fallen short of enrollment targets, has had internal embezzling scandals, and has failed in other key funding criteria to remain solvent, particularly keeping part time students on track to earn valid #degrees and #certificates.
#LaneyCollege, enrolls about 14,400 students. Merritt, enrolls about 11,000 with sister schools #Berkeley City College, and College of #Alameda being left out of consolidation schema. Peralta district enrolls a total of about 32,000 students cumulatively, but issues far less diplomas.

The Peralta Community College District Chancellor announced she will be recommending a merger to the Board of Trustees, "reunifying" the school to become Oakland City College.
Did you know that #killswitchengage were using #Laney Amps for quite some time? They even used the Ironheart which I happen to have at home!
So I watched a few rig rundowns of their gear and copied their settings (#Amp only) and did a #NAM #neuralampmodeler profile for everyone to download and play.
Remember to put a Tubescreamer in front of the amp!

Check out frankyfire's neural amp head capture for guitar, bass and recording: This is the capture of my Laney Ironheart IRT60 as it used to be played by Killswitch Engage live. I used the information of some rig rundown videos on Youtube to dial it in. IMPORTANT: If you really want to recreate their tone, you would need to add a Maxon OD808 in front of this profile. They used it without drive, full level and an unknown amount of Tone. I assume that was set to about 1-2 o'clock. Speakers should be Celestion Vintage30's. They used the Lead channel exclusively. For clean tones they had another Amp with them which was miced up behind the stage. Later they used the Tony Iommi Edition of this Amp, presumably because of flaws with the gain structure of the Ironheart. This collection contains Captures including and excluding the Power Amp. This was made by using a DI Box in the FX Loop of the AMP and an St.Rock React:IR Load Box. Update 15.05.2025: Re-Learned the model, phase was inverted which might lead to Aliasing. · Laney Ironheart IRT60H · nam, modern metal, killswitch engage, metalcore and high gain metal
I've been thinking about getting an FRFR Speaker Cab for a good long while. (FRFR = Full Range Flat Response, so perfect for guitar modeling amps and e-drums, etc.)
My main contenders so far were the Line6 Powercab and the Fender Tone Master FR-12, but alas they're both US companies, so out of the question at this point in time. Now I'm buying a Laney LFR instead.

About 10 years ago, a friend of mine gifted me a Laney VC30 212 guitar amplifier.
He had the amp microchipped with a PETtrac microchip in case it was stolen. As the name suggests, this is a technology for pets.
A couple of months ago, I sold the amplifier to GuitarGuitar in Edinburgh.
Today, I logged onto the PETtrac website and informed them that my 'pet' guitar amplifier has died! 🤣🤣🤣
