Mi Epiphone Les Paul Custom me hace muy feliz, pero últimamente no dejo de pensar en entrarle a una Gibson

Epiphone Les Paul Custom Widow
Our first guitar was an Epiphone Strat copy. We did not appreciate at the time how odd it was for such thing to exist at all. Certainly many if not most guitar companies do a Strat copy sooner or later. (Usually sooner, before advancing to original models.) But Epiphone is not most companies. It was originally founded way back in the Ottoman Empire of all places, before moving to New York City in the 1900s. However, by the time we came around, it had long since been acquired by Gibson, and mostly delegated to budget import versions of more the more expensive Gibson models. (With some notable exceptions like the Epiphone Casino, and occasional reissues of other independent models.) Why would they suddenly be copying a guitar from biggest rival, Fender? We still don’t know.
What we do know is that it was not very expensive, and it was not very good. Before long, we realized that parent company Gibson were themselves in the midst of a multi-decade slump, offering mediocre quality at premium prices while coasting on brand name recognition. So, the even cheaper version of THAT? No thanks.
Perhaps we have been too harsh in our attitude toward Epiphone. Within a couple of years, when it was clear that we were taking the guitar thing seriously, writing songs and playing with friends, we were ready to upgrade to a more serious instrument. Yet that first guitar did its job of stoking our initial enthusiasm, and what more could we ask of it?
So, bearing in mind what we said just last week that name on the headstock should not matter, we humbly offer the counterpoint of: …ARE YOU SEEING THIS!
This is a purple Les Paul. We will assume that anyone with even a passing familiarity with rock music will have encountered a Les Paul guitar before, and not waste any more time going into those details.
Have we seen purple Les Pauls before? Solid purple, stained purple, purple burst, purple sparkle, etc.? Yes. Yes we have. And it has always felt rather, “meh, nice try.” Have we seen a semi-transparent purple to black sunburst accented with purple bindings that almost seem to glow against the dark background‽ No. No we have not.
Honestly, this guitar feels like seeing your ex at a party, all dressed up and looking the best that they have ever looked in their life. You know that you should not go over there. You know that it will only end in pain, in heartbreak, in… widowhood? But, my god, right in this moment, are you ever tempted to make a truly regrettable mistake‽
