Part of the problem is Peralta Community College district has fallen short of enrollment targets, has had internal embezzling scandals, and has failed in other key funding criteria to remain solvent, particularly keeping part time students on track to earn valid #degrees and #certificates.

#LaneyCollege, enrolls about 14,400 students. Merritt, enrolls about 11,000 with sister schools #Berkeley City College, and College of #Alameda being left out of consolidation schema. Peralta district enrolls a total of about 32,000 students cumulatively, but issues far less diplomas.
