"Waterfall Light" for #TextureTuesday

This rainbow formed in the spray of Upper Rainbow Falls of the San Joaquin River, at Devil's Postpile National Monument near Mammoth Lakes in California's Eastern Sierra. I loved the combination of all the textures and colors and the somewhat abstract quality that the combination of it all took on.

Flowering Desert Pepperweed (also Desert Alysum; Lepidium fremontii) and Desert Fir (also Schott's Pygmy Cedar; Peucephyllum schottii... and it is neither a fir nor a cedar of course 🤪 but rather, in the sunflower family, Asteraceae!) with some Arrowweed, growing out of the cracks and crevices in a rock at Joshua Tree National Park. Looking back at April 2016 for #ThrowbackThursday when we had spent a night in Solvang and I was out early to make photos along a road that looked promising. Everything was fenced though! Where the road passed through a lovely forested area, I found this "Waking Dream" of lace-lichen covered oaks, in the canyon of Alisal Creek.
