Hello chums.

I have an odd question. I have a friend in Scandinavia who runs his own photography business. I am in the UK.

In the past he has very kindly sold me photographic film at cost price (I was actually worried this alone was fishy but have been placated that that is his prerogative). I used to go out to visit his city a fair bit as my company were based there. Each time I took the film through carry on.

I no longer work for that company but still have colleagues who do, so am hoping to ask if someone is willing to be a mule for me.

My question is, what is the bad or worse case scenario if customs find these goods.

  • Can they confiscate them?
  • Would the carrier need a receipt (even if this shows at cost value)
  • Would it just be a case of paying an import or customs charge and if so is that levied there and then

Sorry if this is a little woolly, and TIA
