Hydrogen Ladder Version 5.0

So my lovelies, here it is: Version 5.0 of the Hydrogen Ladder!

Thoughts of Chairman Michael

Since we should expect clean #hydrogen supply to be limited for many decades, we should focus our efforts and public money on the primary use cases in the #HydrogenLadder.

Creator Michael Liebreich says first update in two years shows how his views on hydrogen have hardened

Extensive article regarding the future use cases for hydrogen with a discussion about Michael Liebreich's updated "Hydrogen Ladder":

"Hydrogen just isn’t the go-to molecule if there are alternatives, and there are almost always alternatives"

What's New On The Rungs Of Liebreich's Hydrogen Ladder? - CleanTechnica

Like the tiny corkscrew, blade, and toothpick on the Swiss Army knife, hydrogen just isn't the go-to molecule if there are alternatives, and there are almost always alternatives. And in hydrogen's case, a lot of the current use cases are going to diminish due to economic and climate imperatives, not grow.

@lyda @bps_artish @Stephencrown @magnatom indeed. Agreed.

Worth referring to @mliebreich #HydrogenLadder for “worthwhile” use cases and where there are alternatives:

The Clean Hydrogen Ladder [Now updated to V4.1]

The Clean Hydrogen Ladder is my attempt to put use cases for clean hydrogen into some sort of merit order. OK my lovelies, here by popular demand is Version 4.

@marjolica @mackaj Check a thing called #hydrogenLadder. Current uses of hydrogen are the top priority - principally for fertiliser, oil refining and petrochemicals production - currently accounts for around 2% of global CO2 emissions. Clean hydrogen has to win here, as there is no alternative.

@musictraveler @jmtixhon If only the Energy experts would understand that they have their #HydrogenLadder upside down. Oh, and in the magic of a worldwide #Hydrogen infrastructure.
In the real world, an #H2Economy need time to develop, grow and mature. In the meantime #BEV is the best we have – and improving rapidly

@mliebreich Are there plans for an updated #HydrogenLadder ? Last version I could find was v4.1 from 2021. I'd be curious to see how much might have changed.
