As a 'Mega Drive kid,' I have to admit that the news of Hideki Sato's passing has moved me more than I thought it would. The Mega Drive was my very first console and essentially laid the foundation for my entire life; from countless hours spent gaming during my school years to my career in the industry today.

Sato and his team at Sega were responsible for the development of all their home consoles and he also served as the company's president from 2001 to 2003.

Perhaps it’s time to revisit some of my all-time favorites once again.
