Unpacked the giant fleece I bought early spring. Picked out a little fraction to soak overnight and scour tommorrow. Hadn't taken a close look before and mixed feelings. Many of the tips are matted but otherwise it's pretty and quite soft. Also it had little vegetable matter in it.

A little bit worried that the ply might be a bit too loose :/
🧶 #HandSpinning
Wet blocking the big handspun waffle sweater to be. Measured gauge before. Drying flat. Measure again. Then I'll have it on a good coat hanger for a day. Measure again. After that a fitting session to determine how long body and sleeves should be. I am now ±92.000 stitches in of a roughly estimated total of 130.000.

#tourDeFleece2026 is upcoming. (Starting on 2026 07 04)
Who is participating? I try to join this year. Not quite sure about the project I chose, yet.

This went quite quickly. I guess I'm finally learning to embrace the texture. The short stapled roving works better for supported spindles than for my cross arm spindles. Now on with two wheel spun singles and then ply the three together.

Almost half way with the next spindle spun single of this colour experiment. It's interesting that the red now looks red whereas in the precious yarn it looks raspberry pink. It's the same fiber. I blended each colour 45/45 with it's neighbour in the photo below and then added 10% white alpaca.

Looking at you @venite

I can't decide if I want to knit Cottongrass or Saskie, both designed by Saskie&Co.

The yarn I have is hand spun fingering weight 50% Wool, 25% Alpaca, 25% Angora in the colors Oatmeal (MC) and Black Walnut (CC).

I've knitted Cottongrass before and it remains one of my favorite patterns, but I wonder if I should knit the rabbit pattern because of the angora content. 🤔

Back from bicycle touring in Denmark. I finished a bunch of shapes for my infinite #Penrose tiling and a dark blue/purple single of @venite 's fibers (and a bit of my own). Had the purple/raspberry one finished before leaving so dizzed one fauxlag to make a single on my wheel. Bought local yarns and also two little tools at the Jelling museum shop.
