The next part of Gehrdener Berg was the Köthner Berg. There used to be a huge castle like café at the western side that you could reach by tram from Hanover. Unfortunately that part of the tram line is long gone and the impressive café building had to be torn down in 1955.
From there we traveled on to Suerser Berg. We had to push the bicycles to get up there but again there were several monuments and an information board explaining about them plus the burial place from 1800 BC that was found up there.
We cycled back through Gehrden town centre where I spotted the old house with the half hidden entrance door. Our route took us to an enormous spoil heap in Ronnenberg that I already knew and we had a little picnic close by at what looks like an artificial pond. Our last stop was a strawberry farm not too far away and we enjoyed some fresh strawberries there. 🍓
