Hello #fediverse, our #project is #GCmobility and this is our #introduction.
The GCmobility Initiative believes that managing effective #workforce mobility in the #Canadian #Federal #PublicService is not only possible but required for a modern public service.
Currently we are sponsored by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). #ESDC represents close to 10% of the federal public service. Almost 20% of all interdepartmental transfers go through ESDC each year.
I am proud of the #GCmobility team today. After a short planning session at 8am we had a "Release Zero" of an #MVP for a #GCdigitalService by 9am.

What has the experience been like transferring between departments?
I am getting excited about 2 things in particular.
1. What will the team come up with for our first #GCMicroService.
2. How long will it take before we can announce our first release as a #MinumumViableProduct #MVP.

Still 2 days to go until we start our experiment to open our doors and let folks peek behind the curtain of the #GCmobility team.
I am feeling really excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because we have doubled the size of our team with 2 great additions to build a #GCdigitslService.
Nervous because working in the #OpenByDefault is not something done often in the #GCverse. So we are opening ourselves up to either ubber support, or mega judgements.
Do you have any advice / insights?
Hey #GCverse. From Dec 5 to 15 the #GCmobility initiative at #ESDC will be opening up it's process and methods for a full 2 week iteration. We want you and other #GCleaders to join us virtually.
Our overall goal is to decrease crossboarding between federal departments from over 2 years to less than 2 weeks. Sound interesting?
While we are far from achieving this goal, in our next iteration we want to build a modern #GcDigitalService in a single 2 week iteration.
