I found this today when looking for a reference about non-responders to blueberry flavonols. I'm sharing the link in a separate post since it has a really wonderful literature review.

Sorry to hear that. I suspect that there are non-responders for cacao flavonols, just like there are non-responders for blueberry flavonols* (the mechanism of action is similar, involving nitric oxide production). Chocolate and cacao products can vary in the amount and quality of flavonols. CocoVia has a very high amount of flavonols (and low heavy metals, and no added sugar or fat in the plain powder), so that's what I'd recommend trying if someone is interested in testing the effects of cacao flavonols.

There are other ways to boost nitric oxide production.
Here's a YouTube playlist of videos on nitric oxide and ways to increase it:

Chinese Antique Lotus: Not just an ornamental plant

Lotus (Nelumbo) is an important aquatic ornamental plant, with high edible and medicinal value. It has been cultivated in China for more than 3,000 years. Antique Lotus is a special group of lotuses. It is formed by the germination of ancient lotus seeds buried underground for hundreds or even thousands of years. With its unique historical and cultural significance, Antique Lotus is favored by people all over the world, but little research has been done on its economic value.

People who eat or drink more foods with #antioxidant #flavonols, which are found in several fruits and vegetables as well as tea and wine, may have a slower rate of memory decline, according to a study published in the November 22, 2022, online issue of Neurology®, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

“It’s exciting that our study shows making specific diet choices may lead to a slower rate of cognitive decline,” said study author Thomas M. Holland, MD, MS of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. “Something as simple as eating more fruits and vegetables and drinking more tea is an easy way for people to take an active role in maintaining their brain health.” #Aging #CognitiveDecline #Tea
