An even longer day and traffic was worse. I wasn't paying much attention around and noticed my azaleas began blooming, and I have missed many of camelias... Spring has sprung without my feeling pollen effect (yet).

Here we are on 14 November (Zone 9A, Southern AZ) and my Black Jack fig is LOADED with figs still ripening. This is it's first year producing and it has exploded. I just wish it would give me more than 1 or 2 ripe at a time. I'm sure next year it'll be pumping them out regularly. These things are the size of racquetballs

Thisbe’s Tarantula-hawk Wasp

I was out pruning the fig tree and notices a large critter on a fig above me. To my surprise it was this handsome wasp! I’d never seen one in person before so I was quite excited to see it chewing away on the over-ripe figs. Of course I submitted the photo to iNaturalist. #wasp #tarantulahawk #figtree
