While Betty's ankles may be scandalous, this #FelixTheCat short from 1928 is a pretty explicit depiction of the booze and drug filled club scene in the Roaring Twenty's.
Felix is shown popping pills, smoking and drinking copious amounts of hooch.
His "trip" through the night is pretty astounding.

When I was a kid there was a cool old-fashioned ice cream parlor down the street. Upstairs there was a candy counter, and some old-fashioned (REALLY old-fashioned) hand-cranked machine (either a Kinetoscope or a Mutoscope) where you could watch short silent cartoons for a nickel. Felix the Cat was my favorite.
