Does anyone have resources or guides for making fedi front ends? I'm already using the Mastodon API docs, also planning on using Misskey API docs, but if there's any more generalistic resources (or step-by-step suggestions even for specific APIs) they would be much appreciated!

Using #fedilab to access #mastodon , and I am growing unhappy with the "fetch more posts" function.
C'mon, I know that during my 8 hours of sleep there will be a lot of posts in my home feed - and I am OK with that, I can scroll through them all, no big deal.
But clicking "Fetch more..." always jump ahead a few posts, then I need to return back....how about just let the user scroll in peace?

Fedilab is out, too much bullshit simply trying to read the timeline (missing posts, 'load more' buttons that don't work / are missing).
Trying Pachli now, it immediately seems much better.

I'm giving https://phanpy.social a try as a web-based Mastodon client. It's pretty nice! I spend most of my non-work time on Linux, and I've yet to find a satisfactory client that works well there. I've tried a handful of other web-based clients plus https://tuba.geopjr.dev/, and none of them have fit my browsing style. Phanpy seems like it might be what I'm looking for. Thanks to https://www.theverge.com/installer-newsletter for recommending it.

Minimalistic opinionated Mastodon web client

There are a 8 features specific to #IceCubesApp and 7 features specific to #ivory that I am really keen about. Since neither implemented them all, I continue to use both.

The good things about my Mastodon clients

For a few years I was a happy and fulfilled user of the iPhone app Metatext, a client for the federated social network Mastodon. When Metatext stopped being developed, I spent days reading comparis…

I need a @firefish mobile app. I never thought I'd ever want an app for a webpage, but it really dislikes something about Firefox on my phone.
Specifically, the touch targets are a mess. Scrolling results in clicking favorites, the notification icon on the nav bar usually interacts with a random post instead, and in general it's angling to get me in trouble. I can't even find all my interactions to see what it did! Maybe it clicked something bad in a language I don't read. At least boost has a popup. BUT the only safe answer is to reload the page. Can't click cancel or anything!
Maybe it's migration time again.
