A #mutbias is a systematic diff in rates for types of mutations, e.g., transition vs. transversion, or GC->AT vs. AT->GC. Such biases can influence the course of adaptation by first come, first served dynamics. This "arrival bias" has been reported in #popgen models, lab #adaptation, and retrospective analyses of natural adaptations
