We are up on the Hirtstein in the #OreMountains for a #contest 2-fer: #IARU Region 1 #FD as DM3F/P and #DARC #Microwave as DM7A. The #weather is stable but the HF PA broke down just one hour into the contest. So it‘s only 100 W on #shortwave for the remaining hours. #S07 #HamRadio #elecraftk3 #morsecode #Amateurfunk

For this year‘s WAG #contest I had the opportunity to use our club‘s station DL0TUD since none of the experienced contesters claimed it. I drove the beam and dipole antennas with my old #elecraftk3 as SOP #QRP MIXED. Working #SSB multipliers with 5 W in #SSB is a challenge despite the good antennas, but finally 745 QSOs were made during the 24 hours and the equipment worked flawlessly. #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #morsecode #Dresden #Saxony

Tonight at 1900 UTC the August edition of the #DARC #FT4 #Contest will commence. It’s just one hour short and quite interesting for me since I wasn’t able to develop a proper strategy with my modest setup so far (5 W #QRP and just 10 m of wire).
