Something odd happened on my ROKU box this morning. I wanted to see the news at 6am (1300 GMT) so I tried to watch DW News (English). I got a screen saying that there was a technical issue and to try again.

I switched to my computer and watched instead. The article being aired at that time was https://www.dw.com/en/bayer-wins-in-us-court-but-at-what-cost-to-public-health/video-77721050

After the watching the 15+minute segment on my computer, I tried DW on my ROKU box. It worked.

Anyone else have trouble watching DW news today?

🎥 Day 25 - How Berlin became a hub for trans people | DW History and Culture

This is a good documentary that has a lot of details about queer culture in Berlin. Even I learned something new! I also really wish we hadn't lost so much research and literature to the Nazis. I do feel proud knowing that even over a century ago, there were queer people here, building communities, entertaining people, driving science forward.

If you want to get to know Berlin's history a bit more, do watch this report. I really hope for all of our futures that things calm down, and we can continue to live freely and openly here.

But overall, an Onion Service with JS is better than a mere #SurfaceWeb site without because it's not dependant on #ExitNodes, which are quite limited in terms of bandwith.

And given there are now very powerful #analytics and #SocialMediaManagment tools like #FediSuite, I really wish for @dw_innovation / #DW to get a foothold on #Fediverse.

Because a sober and fact-focussed news outlet like #DWnews really shouldn't depend solely on big platforms that have perverse incentives [i.e. #DoomScrolling, #RageBait & #ClickBait], but have a less frail and fragile connection to it's users.

I really hope @dw_innovation / #DW gets some more budget allocated for the #Fediverse.

Maybe they should consider collaborating with other #EBU members when it comes to that...
- After all, they seem to do so already for their #LiveStreaming.
