jumped into the #dosember game jam this year with "SkyGuard" again since I basically have to start the project over anyway lol
Made a pretty major choice for my art direction thus time, using midrange 3D modeling and rendering software that I had as a teen and leaning into the '90s indie shareware game aesthetic.
So it's 5 days into the jam now, and I've got a bunch of non-placeholder sprites and animations—enough to fully implement the basic game loop!
Still need to do some palette conversion work and get the assets integrated into the DIV2 project, which is the last manual step before starting in on the code. Unfortunately, that's still a couple hundred images to click and drag and possibly reassign transparent values in, one. by. one.
Dabbled a bit with QuickBasic 4.5 today - hoping this will become something for the Dosember DOS Game Jam 👀
The DOS Game Jam link is active!

Although I'm using DOSember as an excuse to run this, anyone can join!
The jam runs all the way until the end of November. Please feel free to get involved! 😊
