Did I have just installed the fucking Nero Burning Rom of 2026 :))
All I want is Resolve. I don't want anything else. Moreover, I don't want to know this shit even exists. Until I really need it.

I've started installing DaVinci Resolve for mac and got severe Windows flashbacks. Wizard-based installers? On macOS? Just why?

Ich bleibe also hartnäckig!
Ich möchte die Lust zum kreativen Schaffen nicht verlieren.

If you are a hobbyist video editor who uses the free version of #DaVinciResolve, etc., why not switch to #Kdenlive? It's #FOSS, cross-platform, and plenty powerful. It's been two years since I started using it to edit #GoPro videos for my hobby #YouTube channel https://youtube.com/@outdoorsyindians. Even on an old #Linux laptop with no #GPUs, I can edit my videos using proxy clips and export them at #4K resolution.

Here is a list of tutorial videos that helped me get started https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrivxE_nvl7cnSPFOIBCQ7w4Ju1Pp6ekM&si=cJDezlxddBm5PZqP

If you film videos of any kind on #GrapheneOS may I wholeheartedly recommend the "Blackmagic Camera" app, which can be found on the #AuroraStore. It's produced by the same folks who make #DaVinciResolve.

It might just be a me problem, but the GrapheneOS camera app (which works really nicely for point and shoot photography) goes a bit glitchy and out of sync with audio when I film stuff, I think because it's variable framerate, and my editing software likes it locked.

I refined the animation a bit to make it more interesting / dynamic.

I also cleaned up the #davinciresolve and #blender node graphs so that I'll hopefully understand them if I ever come back to them

After some years of using #Lightworks for professional #video, I'm trying to learn #DaVinciResolve now.

Feeling like a complete idiot. I just want to align audio from my recorder with the video and cut the ends. I know none of the keyboard shortcuts and nothing is obvious. I know what I want to do, but I don't know where the menu items are. (ChatGPT doesn't know either, btw. – funny they try to charge money for it.)

I love Lightworks. Yet it has a nasty OpenGL bug that apparently only shows on my #UbuntuStudio #Linux machine and I have tried to communicate with developers for 1.5 years or so about this. I simply can't work with it any more. They apparently don't care.

I even own a Lightworks keyboard. Sad situation. I'm not ready for the change. It could be so easy…

#nle #videoediting

People have been posting their editing timelines of late, so here's the most recent Dialtown episode I edited.

Yes, 470 cuts. Videos have way more cuts than you'd assume. Even THAT one that you really like.

I try not to over-joke Dialtown, as the premise is already funny, so most extra clips are occasional supporting visual gags, mainly when conversation drifts away from what's on screen.

#videoediting #davinciresolve

Proof of concept of another #vfx idea I had in my head.

It's made with #davinciresolve and #blender. The pixels' movement is controlled by a video texture with the velocities baked into the rgb channels (z dir is acceleration e.g. gravity)
