Bambu labs once again is utterly incompetent at dealing with errors on their products.
As far as I can tell, once again, the filament has broken deep inside the AMS and once again the resolution steps are utterly at odds with the printer itself. (P1S for those playing along at home)
Symptoms are that the AMS has fully unloaded one slot and there's some error code on the printer.
So let's just fix this on the printer itself as the laptop that has the software is off.
Obvious steps are:
1. Google the error code
2. Follow the steps there
3. ????
4. Working printer!
Except this fails at the second step as the first thing they say to do is "click load" which I'm interpreting as "attempt to load filament" and the printer's response to entering the feeding menu is "I'm broken, fuck off".
So just to re-state that point: there is _no_ way to further diagnose or fix this issue without opening the software.
So software: complains about something that doesn't make sense (PTFE tube is disconnected) says to re-load the filament - did that - and clicked "continue" which proceeded to fully unload the filament again and complain about something different.
Oh ... kay. Resolution steps are the same: re-load the filament and click continue. Same thing again, fully unloads the filament but pops up the same error afterwards.
And at this point it's pretty obvious that the problem is the same as last time, this filament (official Bambu Labs filament) has broken off inside the AMS and jammed it.
However there's something new: a "HMS assistant" button in the app! Let's click it: and yeah, tells us filament is broken in the AMS (AMS != HMS. Yes. Internally it's a HMS but some things in the app and printer say AMS, but not all. Seriously guys?) and a handy link to the documentation! Which dumps you at the error code index. Note that error codes are _not_ displayed in the software, only on the printer. So yet another door slam.
And once again, I must point out that the printer downstairs, an _ancient_ Brother colour laser printer, has an order of magnitude less CPU, ROM, display, everything, but can walk you through fixing most problems with a 1 line text display.
WTF.
