Caesar from Akumal Natura Rescue is introducing us to their beautiful and super-friendly crested caracara. He had been a pet in his earlier existence and sustained a severe wing fracture. Because he spent his whole life in captivity he is not a good option for release but they recently acquired a female caracara and have hopes of breeding more for release. This handsome chap is so used to people, he gets upset when the last tour of the day goes through as he really enjoys meeting and interacting with people. As amazing as this experience was, please resist any urge you may have to keep animals like this as pets.. they are and will always be wild animals that belong in nature with an opportunity to live a normal and natural life. #conservation #birds #eagles #crestedcaracara #akumal #akumalnaturarescue #alllifeisprecious
