A ball of #crestedPartridge perching for the night at the #GrusonGewächshäuser, where they roam freely in some of the greenhouses. It almost made me jump and scream, when I was standing right next to it and heard some rustling in the greenery. I did NOT expect a chonky demon bird almost at eye level, just centimetres away. 😅

☝️ This was the very first caption of the very first photo I posted on Pixelfed a year ago. It's my #Fediversary today!! 🎂

It was a photo of my three #chickens standing in the snow in front of their coop, suspiciously eyeing the white stuff that had covered the grass.

A year ago, I was so horrified and fed up with the tech bro mentality (I still am, and it's getting worse every day) that I created Pixelfed and Mastodon accounts to try them out. I'm not active much on Mastodon, other than following a few news outlets and FotoVorschlag of course. But Pixelfed, you've won my heart! 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂, you lovely people, for making the past year a joy to be online! 🥹

So, as an official Fediversary post, here's another Henuary moment: Cleo, the runt of the flock, drinking some snow a few days ago. It's currently raining, and the snow has turned into soggy slush, so any chicken photos today won't be pretty.
