keetJust for fun, I decided to finally bite the bullet and resurrect ye olde macbook pro (mid-2010) with an SSD and Linux Mint XFCE. I had already upgraded it to 8Gb RAM ages ago. To complete this sacrilege, I hope to use the Chicago95 theme.
I'm not a fan of planned obsolescence, and I'm definitely missing actual ethernet ports on modern mobile hardware. This should be fun.

Tim of the CadeHere's what it looks like. Super true to the original, a theme called Chicago95. I followed Michael MJD's video on using Chicagofier (https://github.com/dominichayesferen/Chicagofier), which simplifies setting up Chicago95 on Xubuntu. This little laptop can't really do much and I don't feel comfortable selling it, so it's a fun project laptop now.
bs2Hopefully there will be a place among the #FreeNightSchool facilities where I can leave this computer. One of the main organizers likes the Win95 and other retro designs from that period. So I added #IceWM to the Gnome window manager. The 4th Wed. night of every month will be dedicated to saving old PCs from the trash. It will probably take a while to get rolling, so I'll have time to try getting XFCE set up with #Chicago95. I'd Rather be doing Racket in emacs though. But maybe I can grow peers?
