Non-profit OCLC is suing Baker & Taylor, alleging the company is using data taken from OCLC's library cataloging product, WorldCat for their own competing product, BTCat.

Things that I like that aren't in my bio: looking for cool rocks, growing flowers, paper and book arts, office supplies, glass, history, and learning in general. I was an exchange student to Finland and it left me with a foundness for all things Finnish.

Every time I try to do hashtags on any platform, I end up internally screaming at myself about the need controlled vocabulary (all these word variations! and inconsistenceis! argh!) and wish I had a #librarian (you know, at a #library) or more specifically a #cataloger (#LibraryCataloger ? someone who does #cataloging) to handle it for me.

Well, it's been long enough that I think it's time for a new #introduction!

Hi all, I'm Puck, a #cataloger at the Boston Public Library, just starting to get involved with organizing folks in my union.

I'm also a #writer (1 short story in the anthology Add Magic to Taste from Duck Prints Press, & another short story forthcoming from DPP next month) and have a #voiceactor credit in Me & AU.

I'm not a very regular user of any medium, but always happy to meet new friends & colleagues!
