Since announcing updated verification requirements, we've worked with the community to ensure these protections are robust yet respectful of platform freedom. We've heard from power users that they want to take educated risks to install software from unverified developers. Today, we're sharing details on a new advanced flow that provides this option. ...

Power Users ?
Seriously ?
What next "Comprehensive UX self protection and security environment enhancements" ? Air Bags ?

They mean Users or Owners ?
And um, their tools .

Never saw a line that said "Power Users Only" outside of a BMX track.

i love CWs so bad. them and #camelCaseHashtags and #altText are my favorite fedi features besides the girls that are here of course
also i have #darknessAggression and i love #women too much 🙏🫶✨💖

@CiaraNi

I like when people use hashtags on the Fediverse. I am far more likely to follow a Hashtag, than I am to follow people.

What I do appreciate and try to do is to #CamelCaseHashTags

It makes them much easier to read and it makes them much easier for a #ScreenReader to parse

@tazgetroete Für die Inklusion wäre es gut, wenn ihr auf #CamelCaseHashtags achtet. Dann wissen Screenreader, wo ein Wort aufhört und das nächste beginnt.

Und für alle anderen ist es auch besser lesbar.

This issue has been going on as long as I've been on Mastodon.

There are many posts such as yours.

I don't think I've ever seen an official response.

Can anyone point me at one?

@BeAware Looks like @trunksapp lets you pin individual hashtags, but you can't group them together and view them in a Antennas-like feed.

#CamelCaseHashtags also appear to be suggested in most cases. They populate by autocomplete and not manual favorites, though.

A friend on *ahem, another social media platform, ahem* mentioned the time he'd seen #analbumcover, which must surely rank in the top 10 examples of why #CamelCaseHashtags are a good idea: #AnAlbumCover is a very different kettle of fish to #AnalBumCover ...

I trashed about .75 GB. I'll see if I can get back to other work now, or if I need to keep culling.

Of course I rediscovered neat pics I never published. Here's a California Gull carrying nesting material to a rocky island in #MonoLake, May 31 2023. I love the high-key effect, with the only color occurring on the bird's head and the leaves it's carrying.

After an inspiring camera-club mtg last night, found these cool raindrop patterns on my friend's brand-new car. Colors are from moonlight, street lights and taillights. #MacroPhotography #CamelCaseHashtags

Since having our HVAC replaced, I've been lurking on home-tech-pro subreddits. They're fascinating and instructive. Also hilarious in that Reddit-comment-drift way. Today Reddit fed me a new sub, r/refrigeration, and I discovered that when it's -30 F., techs sometimes *put space heaters in outdoor coolers* to keep the contents from freezing.

Also that if the temp control in an outdoor soda machine fails, the sodas freeze and explode, turning the machine into a giant Popsicle until spring.
