I completed a 3rd handspun hexiflat (top middle). It’s a little larger due to thicker yarn but by the time I have 500 more and sew them up I’m sure that’ll block right out”. Plus I’ll have lots of slightly different sizes to mix and match. I wonder if I’ll remember the provenance of each of my hexiflats. Maybe the handspun ones, if I take notes. Is anyone else working on a Beekeeper’s Quilt? There are 10.5K projects listed on Rav but many are abandoned or finished at much much smaller sizes. I started my beekeeper ‘s quilt a few years ago but haven’t worked on it consistently. I have 52 hexiflats (I decided not to stuff them) and I need something like 450-550 at a minimum (the pictured one above has 672). It’s going to be a while even if I establish some kind of rhythm like at least a couple every week. #knitting #Beekeepersquilt (2/2)

I finally made progress on one of the Fiber Goals I set for 2025: “Make some hexiflats for my beekeeper’s quilt, especially from handspun.” I officially have 2 handspun hexiflats now and i have figured out I have 2 additional handspun skeins I can also do something from. I mean I also have extra yarn of the same ones so I can make more but DIFFERENT ones is the unspoken part of the goal. #knitting #fiberArts #Beekeepersquilt #FiberGoals

Je viens de me lancer dans un projet tricot qui devrait m'occuper toute l'année, je pense : le "beekeeper's quilt" 🐝

C'est une couverture composée d' "hexipuff", c'est-à-dire des petits hexagones remplis de bourre et attachés ensemble par les coins. Ça permet d'écouler tous les petits restes de laine dont on ne sait pas quoi faire, et c'est parfait à tricoter devant un film ou dans les transports 😊

Je prévois de faire la mienne en arc-en-ciel 🌈

Today I learnt that I can knit a whole hexipuff during a kids party. That’ll be me volunteering to take the smalls to all their future parties then 😂 where have you been knitting your blankets? Have you stuck to the sofa, or taken them further afield?
