Join Paul for this fun evening class learning some new skills with the #bandsaw and #DrillPress. Students will learn how to use a #jig to cut a semi circular block. Then mark with laser engraved template before using the new tilting table on our drill press. Students will also have the option to create a finished edge to their block with our router and laser engrave labels for a standard sketching pencil set on the block - or go wild and give their block a personality with a face and crazy pencil hair!"

OK, this is pretty unhinged, but I managed to print a replacement wheel for my bandsaw that came without the high speed drive wheel.
While “it works”, I’m going to have this either machined or printed out of a more suitable material, because running this for any length of time to actually do work seems like A Bad Idea™️
The arbor that it sits on is somewhat cursed. It’s used for the low speed settings, but the hole for the shaft is not straight, causing it to wobble. The extra credit assignment would be to counter that in the drive wheel design

A $50 bandsaw is never a $50 dollar bandsaw. Oh sure, you may have paid $50 for it (proudly telling your wife the same), but now it needs new tires, and a stand, and oh look, it's set up for metal, and missing the wood drive wheel...
It's in real good shape otherwise!

Anyone happen to have a Delta 28-560 bandsaw that could take a measurement for me?

I haven’t tried to #resaw very wide pieces, but I would build a #jig to hold the piece tight vertically and rollers to support the weight vertically so the operator effort is merely moving the piece horizontally. Probably obvious, but there it is. I think the band blade would be a standard wide blade.

My #Jet #bandsaw has the option of installing a riser block to extend the capacity by about 6”. I can’t tell from the photo if yours might have this option.
