ハーバードのロシア人研究者、ウクライナ戦争開始直後にはっきり反戦抗議活動をして故国を追われ米国のビザを得ていた。フランスに行っていて(彼女のビザは出入国自由)再入国の際ボストン空港で引っかかった。直接のきっかけは、上司(指導教官?)の依頼で仏から持ち帰ってきたカエルの胚(embryo)のサンプルで、持ち込みに必要な書類の不備があったらしい。それ自体は最高500ドルの罰金という“科”であり、いきなりビザの取り消しや身柄の拘束に出るのは全く不当と。

まだ国内で勾留されており、弁護士や支援者が手を尽くしている模様で、続報を待ちます。

少し前、ベネスエラ人が一斉に捕らえられエルサルバドルに送られた際も、“タトゥーの有無”が目印というようなトンデモ基準を見かけており、もう何と言っていいか…😭
