I suppose this is a good thing if you hate immigration and think that foreigners (at least from the third world) are metaphysically incapable of integrating within American society, or are somehow more likely to commit violent crimes than natives (they are not). Imagine how much harder applying for American citizenship would have been for the wife of one of my friends—a Nigerian national—had she immigrated today.
