i'm starting to get that coffee is slightly edgy humor among #CommunityOfChrist members. i love it despite being a coffee/caffiene procautionist (disability-health stuff)
the main CoC adjacent #podcast platform called
Project Zion: The Restoration Caffeinated
and the logo is the temple as a coffee stain and most of the podcast series have #coffee based names. like
"nu'brew"
"coffee to go"
"cuppa joe"
"what's brewing"
"fair trade"
etc.
if we are defining "hot drinks" as hot tea and hot coffee.
this scalding hot cup of kava herbal tea is #WordOfWisdom observant. and kava is an herb, which it helps a lot of people so one may consider it "wholesome", so even WoW approved.
my #WordOfWisdom practice.
more on hot drinks...technically I drink them warm or cold, but heed the LDS understanding of caffeine bc I used to have a legit caffeine problem that i'd call an #addiction but idk if their community would vibe with that. but it was self-medicating ADHD with it to the point of health issues and chemical dependency. i now drink mostly green and herbal tea. on the rare occasion i have coffee, i have 6-oz decaf to half-caf. full-caf, 4 oz.

On that drive I listened to some episodes from #LindsayHansenPark’s #YearOfPolygamy podcast where she goes over the history of the #WordOfWisdom and how it came to be what the #ChurchOfJesusChrist practices today. It was really fascinating!
Join Lindsay as she covers the early history of the Mormon idea of the “Word of Wisdom.” Links mentioned or read in this podcast: * Clair Barrus’ research draft on Word of Wisdom * History of the Word of Wisdom by Scott Kenney * Fair Mormon’s take on Joseph Smith drinking in Carthage * Clair Barrus’ website
