Niagara theatre group helps people with disabilities flourish and gain confidence
When they were getting ready to perform the stage show Thriller awhile back, TASC (Therapy Alternatives for Special Children and Adults) Niagara figured out how to include a cast member who can only lie in a wheelchair, can't sit up straight because then he can't breathe, and can't talk.

Friends, I am asking you tonight to consider every day in your life how difficult it is for #disabled and #elderly people to navigate this world.

Last night, my mother boarded a flight alone from SFO to PHL. She is 79 yo, and has the use of one hand, her right hand, and she is left-handed. She uses a power #wheelchair, but you can't fly with those.

She eventually arrived at her destination in New Jersey, but from what I understand, the experience was harrowing, horrific. She is sleeping, now.

This really makes me appreciate the ADA in the US, because having a bell to call someone to install a temporary ramp for #wheelchair users to get up one step seems like a terrible system (especially since that angled step seems dangerous for everyone).
