Ik dacht altijd dat het oer-Nederlandse Pieterpad lopen saai zou zijn. Dit is niet het geval! Prachtige route weer afgelegd. Gennep - Braamt #pieterpad

Chapeau voor de bedenkers van het Pieterpad en degenen die hem de afgelopen jaren hebben onderhouden. Wat een prachtige routes/paden kom je onderweg tegen, vooral in Limburg. Venlo - Gennep. #Pieterpad

Prachtige derde Pieterpad dag met veel bospaden. Hoogtepunt was de natuur rond Swalmen. Swalmen -Venlo. #pieterpad

Prachtig eerste deel van het Pieterpad afgerond, andersom. Mooi concept dat de twee dames ooit bedachten. Vooral in Limburg is het ook rond deze tijd nog mooi wandelen. Jammer dat je weinig door dorpjes (met horeca) komt maar daar is mee te leven. #pieterpad

We walked about 25km
yesterday (possibly more, this time we lost the right road a few times). The road took us from Groningen to Zuidlaren, and we had special company for a part of the journey:

Highlights? Ancient hunebedden, quiet forest paths and almost free roaming pigs and ponies.
Only about 450km to go!
You guessed, Mai is still having a well-deserved sleep as l write this..

We kicked off the Pieterpad yesterday, a long-distance hiking trail that spans the full length of the Netherlands, from the tiny village up north called Pieterburen all the way to Maastricht. We covered 31km, the kinda of distance that makes you question your life choices and your choice of shoes.
Mai was an absolute trooper - with those tiny little legs you can practically see through, she powered through without a fuss. Podencos never fail to amaze me, they've been around for thousands of years, barely changed, and it's so easy to see why.
