Saturday morning #WhatImPlaying update.

#ForzaHorizon6. Really enjoying my time with it, although I can't shake the feeling that the magic of these games is wearing a little thin. An awful lot of the new features just don't appeal, and I find some of the newer race types to be a little underwhelming.

That said, it's still the best arcade racer on the planet, and when it isn't crashing my entire system it's the ultimate 'chill-out' game.

#Directive8020. Kinda underwhelming so far. I'm not really vibing with any of the characters, the setting feels a bit by the numbers science fiction and the stealth sections are... frustrating at best.

I'll see it through of course. I typically only do one play through of these games; time is limited and I value having 'my story' more than I do seeing everything.

Ultimately though, I wish we could go back to the more Earthy settings from the teams previous games.

What are you playing?

#Videogames

#WhatImPlaying lately:
Link's Awakening DX (#GBC)
Shantae (GBC)
Yugioh Worldwide (#GBA)
Pokemon Leafgreen (GBA)
Chrono Trigger (#SNES)
Witch Loves Bullets (#PICO8)
Golf Sunday (PICO8)
Swordfish (PICO8)
Cryomancer (PICO8)
Sins of a Solar Empire 2 (PC)
Dome Keeper (PC)
Deep Rock Survivor (PC)

I had to really resist the temptation to start #AstroBot, and instead have decided it's finally time to go back to #DeathsDoor.

I played it about 3 years ago, but I think with my life being where it was, and with just having finished the wonderful #Tunic that I wasn't really in the right place for it.

I enjoyed it enough to want to come back to it though, and that's the plan now.

It also runs and looks beautiful on my Steamdeck.

I've been playing this. Not talked about it openly because, well you know.

I just wanted to say that in my 20 or so hours with the game if found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It's got a few annoyances (namely that it's got that...open worldiness to it), but for the most part it's pretty fun, and more polished than I thought it would be. Combat especially feels really fluid and precise.

So yeah. I'm enjoying this.

So I started playing Potion Permit on the Steam Deck. It's better - I absolutely hated the KBM controls - but hoo boy, it's slow. Most days, I'm heading home to bed by 4pm, since stamina is so limiting and this early, food is pretty cost-prohibitive (and not overly effective).

It's fine, so I can give it a few more play sessions to see if it starts to feel better pacing-wise.

#WhatImPlaying - Ghost of Tsushima
#WhatImWatching - Big Sky
#WhatImMaking - a double knitting scarf that I’m not happy with the colours for, but it’s stash busting

Hmm. I finished 18 games in 2022. Which was a down year for me.

Off to a flyer so far in 2023 however. Two weeks in and I'm already through three.

Slowly working through my backlog. Last night I started #Elechead on my Steamdeck. It's a puzzle-platformer with super tight mechanics and a surprising amount of depth to its design.

I don't believe it's too long (my time is limited, 4-5hr long games are the dream), and it naturally runs great on the #Steamdeck.

New Year update

#WhatImReading - A Touch of Light by Thiago Abdalla
#WhatImPlaying - Ghost of Tsushima
#WhatImWatching - His Dark Materials
#WhatImMaking - hand warmers to use up the last of some stash yarn

still. The downside to the #Loona app more or less curing my insomnia is that I’m hardly reading.

#WhatImMaking the same self-written pattern. My knitting progress is slower these days because Cooper often objects to my attention being on not-Cooper and expresses this by lying on top of my knitting. See below
